After having lost a blowout in their previous game against DePaul College Prep, the Amundsen Vikings were happy to have found some success on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-25 win over Elmwood Park. That's another feather in the cap for Amundsen, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Amundsen's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Taylor Barnes led the charge by scoring 5 points along with 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Lopez, who scored 7 points along with 4 steals.
Amundsen is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Elmwood Park, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amundsen will take on Northside at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
