The Spencerport Rangers will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Victor Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Spencerport is hoping to put an end to a nine-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Friday, Spencerport came up short against Pittsford and fell 60-52.
Meanwhile, Victor had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They blew past Irondequoit 59-20 on the road. Given Victor's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 17th, while Irondequoit is ranked 398th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Spencerport now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Victor, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Things could have been worse for Spencerport, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 50-34 loss to Victor in their previous meeting back in February. Can Spencerport avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
