The Wendover Wildcats will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Bryce Valley Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Wendover has seven straight victories, Bryce Valley has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Two weeks ago, Wendover didn't have too much trouble with Tintic on the road as they won 65-49.
Wendover can attribute much of their success to Shawn Duboise, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 13 rebounds, and Raul Valle, who scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals. The match was Duboise's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Eric Rodriguez, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Bryce Valley suffered a tough 48-24 loss at the hands of Milford last Wednesday.
Wendover's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Bryce Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Wendover beat Bryce Valley 51-42 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wendover since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
