Mitchell hasn't had much luck against Watertown recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Kernels will look to defend their home field against the Arrows at 5:30 p.m. Mitchell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Mitchell needed a bit of extra time to put away Aberdeen Central. They were the clear victors by a 15-6 margin over the Golden Eagles. The Kernels haven't had any issues with the Golden Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Rylee Jennings and Macey Linke were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Jennings tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Linke struck out 12 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. At bat, Jennings scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Linke scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of her six plate appearances.

In other batting news, Mitchell let Mallory Miedema and Delaney Linke run wild. Miedema scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5, while Linke scored three runs while going 3-for-6. Kinsley Herges was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-6.

Mitchell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Aberdeen Central only managed seven hits.

Meanwhile, Watertown came up short against Brookings on Tuesday and fell 7-3.

Lauryn Hirsch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run.

The win got Mitchell back to even at 2-2. As for Watertown, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
