The Chatham Charter Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They breezed by Ascend Leadership on the road to the tune of 75-16. Chatham Charter has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Meah Brooks was her usual excellent self, scoring 25 points along with four steals. She hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Hannah Headen was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
The victory (which was Chatham Charter's tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.3 points per game. As for Ascend Leadership, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chatham Charter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Triangle Math & Science at 6:00 p.m. on January 24th. Triangle Math & Science will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 284th, while Chatham Charter is ranked 141st). As for Ascend Leadership, they will head out on the road to take on Clover Garden School at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Clover Garden School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday.
