The Tulia Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. The game between Tulia and Sunray wasn't particularly close, with Tulia falling 52-36. Tulia lost against Sunray in their previous head to head back in November of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-40 score last time.
Ariadna De la rosa was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with eight rebounds for Sunray. That makes it five consecutive games in which De la rosa has scored at least 25% of Sunray's points. Another player making a difference was Carly Neeley, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds.
Tulia bumped their record down to 1-8 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Sunray, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tulia will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dalhart at 6:15 p.m. on January 5, 2024. As for Sunray, they will head out on the road to face off against Groom at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Groom comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
