The Lamar Silver Foxes lost against the Lake View Wild Gators back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Lamar was outmatched by Lake View on the road and fell 61-15. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lamar in their matchups with Lake View: they've now lost nine in a row.
Lake View's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Gwendasia Page, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Page has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Jaleya Ford was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds.
Lamar has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Lake View, they pushed their record up to 20-4 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lamar will take on Green Sea Floyds at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Green Sea Floyds is ranked 221st, while Lamar is ranked 229th). As for Lake View, they will be playing at home against Hannah-Pamplico at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Hannah-Pamplico focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
