The Liberty Christian Warriors put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They blew past Southwest Christian School 49-0 at home. Fans of Liberty Christian have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Liberty Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Welliver, who threw for 276 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Welliver is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Chase Garnett was another key contributor, rushing for 103 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries.
Liberty Christian's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 8-0. As for Southwest Christian School, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
Liberty Christian will head out on the road to face off against All S at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. All S will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 185th, while Liberty Christian is ranked 37th). As for Southwest Christian School, they will be playing at home against Fort Worth Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Fort Worth Christian is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
