Section 3 Class C - West recap October 8, 2013
Fans got a thrill when Trevor Alton and Timothy Webber connected against Bishop Ludden. The connection was good for 97 yards, the longest such play in Section 3 Class C - West this season.
Institute of Tech extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Canastota, 28-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Hannibal's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alton threw for 321 and 3 touchdowns and Webber had 228 yards receiving. On the ground Webber contributed 87 yards. Austin Mattison helped Hannibal's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 41 yards.
Webber had an awesome week catching the football as the Warriors lost to the Gaelic Knights. He caught 11 passes for 228 yards.
He went 18-28 with 1 interception.
Alton put up the best numbers in passing as Hannibal lost to Bishop Ludden.
6-foot-2 quarterback Alton of John Manion's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 669. He has also thrown 7 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Kyle Humberstone. The Jordan-Elbridge star has 14 catches for 369 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Institute of Tech takes on second place Skaneateles.
Two of the top teams in Section 3 Class C - West will go toe-to-toe this week when Skaneateles takes on Institute of Tech. The Lakers' offense has racked up 116 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Eagles have allowed only 23 on the year.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Skaneateles takes on Institute of Tech. Mike Olley's team has allowed 77 points this season, while the Eagles have given up 23. The Lakers allowed 14 points last week as they beat Port Byron/Union Springs.
Institute of Tech moved up to 151 from 224 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles were able to move up by beating the Red Raiders 28-7.
