Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Pelham Hornets walked away with it. They took down Heard County 41-22 on Friday. The win was just what Pelham needed coming off of a 33-7 defeat in their prior matchup.
Nathaniel Walker was a one-man wrecking crew for Pelham as he rushed for 269 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. Walker really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run. Den Johnson jr was another major influence, as he rushed for 43 yards and ran in a TD.
Pelham's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Heard County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-7.
Pelham will face off against Bryan County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Bryan County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 205 points over their last four contests. Heard County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
