The Crab Orchard Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Hamilton County Foxes at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Crab Orchard's pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so Hamilton County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Friday, Crab Orchard earned a 5-1 victory over Tuscola. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Warriors: they've now won three in a row.
Meanwhile, Hamilton County posted their closest victory since May 13, 2025 on Thursday. They skirted past Carmi-White County 7-6.
Colebie Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Miller was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
In other pitching news, Zoe Baylor got the start for Hamilton County and what a start it was: she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Baylor has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in eight consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Addison Kelley, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Addison Leathers, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Hamilton County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 7-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
Crab Orchard's win bumped their record up to 16-4-1. As for Hamilton County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
