St. John can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 80-49 win over Drayton/Valley-Edinburg on the road. Given St. John's advantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 24th, while Drayton/Valley-Edinburg is ranked 112th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cavalier's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] 67-30. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Cavalier has suffered since December 19, 2023.
St. John is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Cavalier, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-14.
St. John didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Cavalier when the teams last played back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 56-51 victory.
