John Carroll Catholic can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They blew past Jasper 35-12. The victory was just what John Carroll Catholic needed coming off of a 28-0 loss in their prior match.
Meanwhile, Wenonah was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 31-27 to Fairfield.
Loss or not, Wenonah got some senior leadership from Young who rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries and Dominic Bruce who rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
John Carroll Catholic's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Wenonah, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: John Carroll Catholic has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 156.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Wenonah struggles in that department as they've been even better at 215.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
