Nichols is 1-9 against Bishop Timon-St. Jude since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Nichols Vikings are taking a road trip to take on the Bishop Timon-St. Jude Tigers at 6:30 p.m. Nichols is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Nichols was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Mary's, taking the game 54-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Nichols' success was spearheaded by the efforts of Mitchell Masiello, who went 5 for 11 en route to 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals, and Tre Paulfrey, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The match was Paulfrey's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Drew Bennett was another key player, putting up seven points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bishop Timon-St. Jude humbled Cardinal O'Hara with an 81-51 victory. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude had a senior duo take command as Damien Johnson went 10 of 16 on his way to 22 points and four steals and Nakyhi Harris dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 boards. Harris is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Malak Bontzolakes, who went 5 for 8 en route to 13 points.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.
Bishop Timon-St. Jude pushed their record up to 9-3 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Nichols, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-6.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as Nichols and Bishop Timon-St. Jude are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Nichols hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 61.3 points per game. However, it's not like Bishop Timon-St. Jude struggles in that department as they've been averaging 73.5 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Nichols was dealt a bruising 91-53 loss at the hands of Bishop Timon-St. Jude in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Nichols avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
