Baseball Recap: Francis W. Parker Comes Up Short

If Francis W. Parker was feeling good fresh off their 12-4 takedown of Lake Forest Academy on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Colonels took a 19-15 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lincoln Park Lions on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (12), the Colonels still had to take the loss.

Lincoln Hamid and Ty Donath stepped up to the plate in a big way. Hamid went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Donath went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that Hamid has launched this season. Ben Graines was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Francis W. Parker has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Lincoln Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-14.
