The Oak Glen Golden Bears can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They took their match on the road with ease, bagging a 60-18 win over Brooke. With Oak Glen ahead 41-4 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Oak Glen can attribute much of their success to Kami Ward, who scored 17 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Ward has scored at least 25% of Oak Glen's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Stewart, who scored 12 points.
Oak Glen's win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2. As for Brooke, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Oak Glen will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Beaver at 7:30 p.m. Beaver is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. Brooke will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Wheeling Park at 7:30 p.m. on December 21st.
