Volleyball Recap: Serrano Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

Serrano won the last time they faced Barstow and things went their way on Friday too. The Diamondbacks had just enough and edged out the Aztecs 3-2.

Serrano wouldn't go down easily and took Barstow into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-11, 25-20, 23-25, 15-9.

Hailey Orozco was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 11 assists and six digs. Destiny Mchenry also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Serrano was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in seven consecutive contests.

Serrano has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. As for Barstow, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Serrano will face off against Hesperia Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Barstow, they will head out to square off against Oak Hills at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
