The biggest upset of the week belonged to North Ridgeville, who took down 176th ranked Elyria Catholic, 23-15.
Fans got a thrill when Cody Callaway and Zac Wilson connected against Lakewood. The connection went for 66 yards, the longest such play in West Shore this season.
Rocky River's dynamic duo of Matt Lowry and Alex Theiling proved tough for Bay to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lowry threw for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns and Theiling had 129 yards receiving. Patrick Connors helped Rocky River's passing attack out by catching 7 balls for 105 yards.
Callaway provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Midview topped the Rangers. He completed 12 passes for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 144 yards. Callaway's favorite target this week was Logan Bolin, who caught 3 passes for 81 yards.
The Middies' Callaway and Bolin led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-2 quarterback Callaway has thrown for 2,268 yards this season, while Bolin has 48 catches for 972 yards. The Pirates' Lowry leads the league in rushing yards with 979.
Rocky River's Lowry is a mere 21 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 157 carries Lowry has put up 979 yards this year.
Rick Adams' team's Lowry is within 174 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Elyria Catholic. Accruing a total of 26 touchdowns this year, Lowry has thrown for 1,826 yards with 6 interceptions.
Midview's Bolin is only 28 receiving yards away from breaking 1,000 receiving yards this season as he enters this week's game against the Berea-Midpark. He has recorded 48 catches for 972 yards this year.
At the moment, the Rockets are in seventh, while Avon is in first.
The Eagles added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Olmsted Falls, 21-14. The win marks ninth in a row for the Avon.
