If the Valley Center Jaguars were riding high off their 80-53 takedown of the San Pasqual Golden Eagles last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Valley Center took a serious blow against Westview on Friday, falling 68-38. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley Center has scored all season.
Carson Yoder and Kevin Garcia certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Yoder scored 19 points, while Garcia scored eight points along with 13 rebounds and four steals. Yoder has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dustin Hotchkiss, who scored three points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Valley Center's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Westview, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-10.
Valley Center won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Orange Glen at 3:00 p.m. on January 27th. As for Westview, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fallbrook at 7:00 p.m. on January 31st.
