Jordan-Matthews had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. On Friday, they came up short against West Montgomery, falling 7-21. If Jordan-Matthews were hoping for some payback for the 7-38 loss against West Montgomery the last time the two teams met, then they were disappointed.
No one had a larger role in the success than senior Payton Coble, who brought his A game into the match. He rushed for 194 yards and 1 touchdown. This was the first contest for both squads, starting Jordan-Matthews off on the wrong foot at 0-1, while giving West Montgomery a 1-0 record.
