The home team had come away the winner the last five times Manitowoc Lincoln and Notre Dame Academy had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. Vance Schroeder was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. What's more, he posted three hits, the most he's had since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Bradl, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Green Bay Southwest and West De Pere meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Fighting Trojans fell just short of the Phantoms by a score of 4-3.
Kaleb Langenberg spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ethan Richardson made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jacob Richardson, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Green Bay Southwest's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Manitowoc Lincoln has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Green Bay Southwest, though, as they've been averaging only 4 strikeouts. Will Manitowoc Lincoln keep running through batters, or will the Fighting Trojans buck the trend?
Manitowoc Lincoln was able to grind out a solid victory over Green Bay Southwest in their previous matchup back in April, winning 5-0. Do the Ships have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Fighting Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
