The Bluffton Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Fairfield Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Bluffton sitting on six straight wins and Fairfield on seven.
Bluffton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Churubusco 58-16 on the road. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 37-7.
It was another big night for Isabella Stout, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was her sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Haley Gibson, who scored 18 points.
Fairfield has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 23 points or more this season. They took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 51-18 victory over Elkhart Christian Academy. Given Fairfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while Elkhart Christian Academy is ranked 288th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bluffton's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Bluffton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Fairfield in their previous meeting back in February of 2021, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. Does Bluffton have another victory up their sleeve, or will Fairfield turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
