The Celebration Storm's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 11th straight defeat. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 77-53 walloping at the hands of Davenport. If Celebration was looking for revenge after losing 53-37 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
When it comes to explaining why Celebration lost, one person who can't be blamed is Andy Ndambo. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Ricardo Baro was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Celebration's loss was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Davenport, their victory bumped their record up to 11-12.
Celebration is on the road again on Thursday and plays the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Poinciana presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Storm in Florida (the Eagles are ranked 145th, while the Storm are ranked 650th). As for Davenport, they will take on the Yellow Jackets at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Leesburg knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully the Broncos like a good challenge.
