Meanwhile, White County never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Cumberland County with a sharp 16-0 win. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Warriors this season.
White County also got a great performance from Mabry Taylor as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave Taylor a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna McCulley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Another player making a difference was Maddie Rust, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI.
DeKalb County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for White County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-14.
DeKalb County took their victory against White County in their previous matchup on April 1st by a conclusive 7-1 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
