The Schuyler County Rams had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Slater 81-42 at home. The result was nothing new for Schuyler County, who have now won seven contests by 24 points or more so far this season.
Elliot Sevits continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 266 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 58 receiving yards. Sevits was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Smith, who threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.3 yards per attempt.
Schuyler County's victory was their fifth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for Slater, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Schuyler County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Slater will head out on the road to face off against St. Paul Lutheran at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Paul Lutheran has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 174 points over their last three games.
