The Lawrence Upper Lions pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Christian. Lawrence Upper lost against Heritage Christian in their previous head to head back in February of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 45-31 score last time.
Lawrence Upper's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Bell, who scored 18 points. Jordan Jackson was another key contributor, scoring 18 points.
Lawrence Upper's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Heritage Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lawrence Upper won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lake Ridge Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. Lake Ridge Academy is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Heritage Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Westside Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Westside Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
