Basketball Recap: Island Coast's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Island Coast hadn't done well against Estero recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Island Coast Gators came out on top against the Estero Wildcats by a score of 67-60. For the Gators, this counts as revenge for the 56-50 win the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Island Coast's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from SirJoshua Anderson, who went 7 for 11 en route to 19 points and six boards. That's the most rebounds Anderson has posted since back in November of 2024. Jose Bido was another key player, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten assists.

Island Coast was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ashton Peterson, who went 9 of 18 on his way to 23 points. Another player making a difference was Cooper Lasalle, who went 6 for 13 en route to 17 points and six boards.

The victory (which was Island Coast's third in a row) raised their record to 14-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.0 points per game. As for Estero, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Island Coast will take on Cypress Lake at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Island Coast's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Estero, they will challenge LaBelle at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Estero is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 63.6 points per game this season.
