The South Miami Cobras's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They suffered a tough 58-32 loss at the hands of Carol City. South Miami lost against Carol City in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 72-66 score last time.
It was another big night for Oluwasemilore Adewoye, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for Carol City. That's the first time this season that Adewoye pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Jahquori Lombrage, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
South Miami has been struggling recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Carol City, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Miami will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southwest at 7:30 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Carol City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on North Miami Beach at 7:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024.
