The Owings Mills Golden Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hereford. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Owings Mills of the 49-42 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Francois Bangoura, who scored 16 points. Abdul Azeem-Davies was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Owings Mills' loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Hereford, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owings Mills will square off against the Gophers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hereford, they will head out on the road to face off against the Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Towson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.
