Clayton has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge The Legacy Academy Silverbacks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Clayton faced Dulce in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Clayton didn't even let Dulce onto the board and left with a 54-0 victory.
Meanwhile, Legacy Academy had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 44-12 victory over Menaul.
James Akins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 138 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Lorenzo Sedillo-Urban, who threw for 75 yards and two touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Clayton to 5-5 and Legacy Academy to 7-1.
Clayton took a serious blow against Legacy Academy in their previous matchup back in September, falling 62-26. Can Clayton avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
