Having just played yesterday, the South Lake Eagles will get right back to it and host the Wiregrass Ranch Bulls at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
South Lake has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matches by 38 points or more this season. They breezed by Tavares at home to the tune of 57-19. The win was just what South Lake needed coming off of a 67-28 loss in their prior matchup.
South Lake's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aniyah Wilmore, who scored ten points along with eight assists and six steals. Wilmore also posted eight assists for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Jazmine Monroe, who scored nine points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Wiregrass Ranch's seven-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Monday. They claimed a resounding 51-2 victory over Pasco on the road. Wiregrass Ranch's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wiregrass Ranch had a senior duo take command as Claire Kelley scored 13 points along with four steals and Solei Sowell scored eight points along with six steals. Sowell hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Andralee Keim, who scored five points along with five steals.
South Lake's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Wiregrass Ranch, their win bumped their record up to 1-6.
Keep an eye on the arc in Tuesday's contest: South Lake have been dynamite from deep this season, having nailed 39.1% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Wiregrass Ranch, though, as they've only made 29.5% of their threes per game this season.
