Marshall moved up to 277 from 361 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region II District 14. The Mavericks were able to move up by defeating Mt. Pleasant 64-59.
Texas extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Sulphur Springs, 43-7. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
Marshall's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Justin Hart threw for 242 and 4 touchdowns and Merek Reyes had 133 yards receiving. On the ground Jacque Kuykendall chipped in 159 yards. Ashton Robertson helped Marshall's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 57 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Pine Tree's Dalvin Manns and Mason Hays have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Manns has thrown for 1,648 yards this season, while Hays has 30 catches for 723 yards. The Wildcats' Willy Ivery leads the league in rushing yards with 848.
An important game coming up in 4A Region II District 14 this week will be when Sulphur Springs takes on Hallsville. At the moment, Greg Owens' team is in third, while the Bobcats are in second.
The Mavericks and Mt. Pleasant played the closest game in the league this week, with the Mavericks eventually emerging with a 64-59 victory. Hart during the win.
