The Evansville Reitz Panthers's 19-7 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They fell 55-44 to Indianapolis Arsenal Technical on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Evansville Reitz can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Indianapolis Arsenal Technical is ranked 72nd).
Despite the loss, Evansville Reitz saw an underclassman step up: Jaylan Mitchell dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Mitchell scored a full 56.8% of Evansville Reitz's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Indianapolis Arsenal Technical got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Devon Craig out in front who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. Elexander Harris was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 3 steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Evansville Reitz and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for Indianapolis Arsenal Technical, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Evansville Reitz will be playing at home against Evansville North at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Indianapolis Arsenal Technical's road trip will continue as they head out to face Indianapolis Washington at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th.
