Annandale waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Watertown-Mayer Royals a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Cardinals have won eight matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Makayla Jenniges made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madi Swanson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Bryn Fahey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
