Two dominant signal callers in Royce Jenkins and Jackson Stecher are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Hagerty Huskies will welcome the Lake Brantley Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hagerty has given up an average of 27.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
On Friday, Hagerty ended up a good deal behind Oviedo and lost 41-26. Despite 55 more yards than the Lions, the Huskies couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.
The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Jenkins and Sebastian Galeano. Galeano had a great game and threw for 285 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes. Meanwhile, Jenkins was balling out in the loss, throwing for 338 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 51 yards.
Even if they lost, Hagerty's defensive line still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Oviedo's QB won't forget Gavin Miller anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Ryan Davis was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, making 11 total tackles, and defending three passes.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Lake Brantley, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-7 win over Tohopekaliga. Considering the Patriots have won four games by more than 34 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Lake Brantley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Joseph Tesoriero, Caleb Reed, and Cody East picked up one apiece. Another thorn in Tohopekaliga's side was Layden Canals, who picked up a sack and made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Lake Brantley pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.8 points on average over those games. As for Hagerty, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Hagerty has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.3 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lake Brantley struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 166.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Everything went Hagerty's way against Lake Brantley when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as Hagerty made off with a 32-6 victory. Will the Huskies repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
