The Danvers Falcons came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Winthrop by a score of 49-42 on Tuesday. The win was just what Danvers needed coming off of a 72-52 loss in their prior match.
Leading Danvers to victory were Kevin Ahearn and Max Marchant. Ahearn scored 13 points, while Marchant scored five points along with seven rebounds and five steals. It was the first time this season that Marchant grabbed two or more steals. Michael Moroney was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six rebounds.
Danvers' win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Winthrop, they dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Danvers will take on Saugus at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Danvers focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for Winthrop, they will be playing at home against Swampscott at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Swampscott has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three games.
