Lee County hasn't had much luck against Estill County recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Engineers at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lee County's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Owsley County as they made off with a 13-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Owls / Lady Owls: they've now won five in a row.

Preslee Cundiff made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 18 over six innings pitched. Those 18 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two triples, and two stolen bases.
In other batting news, Lee County got a massive performance out of Emileigh Warner, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Hollie Chrisman, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lee County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 8.8.
Estill County never got on the board in their matchup on Thursday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Wolfe County on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 18-9 margin over the Wolves. The Engineers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Lee County, Estill County also got a great game from a two-way player: Spencer Young. On the mound, she tossed 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Young was also big at the plate, going 1-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Brooklyn Ferrell and Peyton Henderson did most of the damage at the plate: Ferrell went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs and two RBI, while Henderson went 4-for-5 with four runs and one stolen base. Bella Rice was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run.
Estill County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Lee County, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lee County hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like Estill County struggles in that department as they've averaged .355. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
