The Bucklin Red Aces lost to the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs back in December of 2015, but the Bucklin Red Aces didn't allow the Pretty Prairie Bulldogs the same satisfaction on Friday. Bucklin walked away with a 59-46 victory over Pretty Prairie. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bucklin.
Bucklin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden Tilley, who scored 15 points along with three steals and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Tilley has scored at least 25% of Bucklin's points. Another player making a difference was Kolson Cook, who scored 12 points.
Pretty Prairie's loss came despite strong showings from Gage Bowers and Evan Young. Bowers scored 15 points along with six rebounds, while Young scored 12 points along with six rebounds. Those 15 points set a new season-high mark for him.
Bucklin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. As for Pretty Prairie, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bucklin will be home for the holidays to greet Pawnee Heights at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Pawnee Heights focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. As for Pretty Prairie, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Udall at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Udall will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 301st, while Pretty Prairie is ranked 126th).
