On Thursday, Roseland University Prep came up short against Point Arena and fell 57-47. While losing is never fun, Roseland University Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1070th, while Point Arena is ranked 367th).
Leading Point Arena to victory were Fernando Lopez and Derek Billy. Lopez scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds, while Billy dropped a double-double on 16 points and 10 rebounds. The contest was Lopez's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dauki Bechtol, who scored 7 points along with 11 rebounds.
Roseland University Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Point Arena, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 5-0.
Roseland University Prep's road trip will continue as they head out to face Drew at 5:00 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Drew focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Thursday. As for Point Arena, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Vincent de Paul at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
