Nixon never let their opponents score on Friday. Everything went their way against the Martin Tigers as the Nixon Mustangs made off with a 15-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Jimena Ibarra made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had over her last eight contests. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2. That's the most stolen bases she has posted over her last 14 matches.

In other batting news, Nixon got a big performance out of Delaney Guevara, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. What's more, Guevara posted two RBI, the most she's had over her last 13 games. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Camarillo, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Nixon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .792. They are undefeated (5-0) when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Nixon's victory bumped their record up to 9-7-1. As for Martin, their defeat was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Coming up, Nixon will welcome Rio Grande City at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Grande City will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Nixon surely won't give up without a fight. As for Martin, they will head out on the road to square off against Roma at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Martin is facing Roma at the right time seeing as Roma is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
