There's no place like home for the Glynn Academy Terrors, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Tuesday. They secured a 55-49 W over Brunswick on Friday. Given Glynn Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Brunswick is ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Brunswick saw an underclassman step up: Heze Kent dropped a double-double on 15 points and 18 rebounds. Kent scored a full 30.6% of Brunswick's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Daron Monroe, who scored 9 points along with 7 rebounds.
Glynn Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Brunswick, they bumped their record down to 3-2 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glynn Academy will take on Richmond Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond Hill is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for Brunswick, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Lowndes at 6:30 p.m.
