The Rio Grande Ravens will challenge the St. Pius X Sartans at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Rio Grande has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Rio Grande's win against Atrisco Heritage Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ravens came out on top against the Jaguars on Friday by a score of 4-3 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

The team relied heavily on Sebastian Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Luis Salinas, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, St. Pius X entered their tilt with Valencia on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Jaguars with a sharp 12-1 victory. That 11 run margin sets a new team best for the Sartans this season.
Jacob Madrid made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because St. Pius X is undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 7-10 otherwise. Madrid was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, Jax Mulville was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Joaquin Aragon was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
St. Pius X always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Valencia only posted an OBP of .190.
The win got St. Pius X back to even at 10-10. As for Rio Grande, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Rio Grande came up short against St. Pius X when the teams last played back in March, falling 11-8. Can the Ravens avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
