Joshua Burnston was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Suncoast's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 8-9 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Agudelo, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Suncoast was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Royal Palm Beach only posted a batting average of .214.
Meanwhile, Benjamin came out on top against Schoolhouse Prep on Tuesday by a score of 7-2 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).
Benjamin also got a great performance from Nate Swank as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. The dominant performance also gave Swank a new career-high in strikeouts (three).
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on CJ Soto, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. Logan Buchanan was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Suncoast's record now sits at 11-9. As for Benjamin, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Benjamin's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Suncoast hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .323. It's a different story for Benjamin, though, as they've only averaged .220. Will they be able to contain Suncoast's hitters?
Suncoast came out on top in a nail-biter against Benjamin in their previous meeting back in March of 2025, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
