After a string of three wins, the Seekonk Warriors's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They were outmatched by Bourne on the road and fell 76-40. Seekonk has not had much luck with Bourne recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Seekonk's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Travis Pereira, who scored five points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Johnny Payne, who scored eight points.
Seekonk bumped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Bourne, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Seekonk will square off against Apponequet Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Apponequet Regional knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matches -- so hopefully Seekonk likes a good challenge. As for Bourne, they will head out on the road to square off against Old Rochester Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Old Rochester Regional will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 55th, while Bourne is ranked fifth).
