Basketball Recap: Ripon Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

Ripon won the last time they faced Orestimba and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Ripon Indians were the clear victor by a 62-42 margin over the Orestimba Warriors. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Warriors are ranked 1033rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ripon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Madoski, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 17 points and eight rebounds. Madoski is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Lefebvre, who went 5 of 8 en route to 12 points and seven boards.

Ripon was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Orestimba only racked up five assists.

Orestimba's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Devon Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Rudy Corona, who went 6 for 14 on his way to 12 points and four steals. Mathew Wales was another key player, putting up seven points and five boards.

Ripon is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Orestimba, their defeat was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-17.

Ripon will challenge Ripon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Ripon Christian comes in on five and Ripon on four. As for Orestimba, they will take on Hilmar at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Orestimba is facing Hilmar at the right time seeing as Hilmar is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
