The Lincoln Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pioneer Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
Last Friday, Lincoln was able to grind out a solid win over Piedmont Hills, taking the game 66-53.
Lincoln relied on the efforts of Mussie Yimer, who scored 19 points, and Joseph Shelton, who scored 24 points. Shelton is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Hooks, who scored eight points.
Pioneer suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Friday. They were dealt a 61-27 defeat at the hands of Westmont. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Pioneer has scored all season.
Lincoln is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Pioneer, their loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 10-5.
Lincoln barely slipped by Pioneer in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, winning 45-44. Does Lincoln have another victory up their sleeve, or will Pioneer turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
