The McBee Panthers struggled with assists on Thursday (the Charlotte Elite Academy Soldiers had nine more) and sadly the final score reflected it. McBee had to suffer through a rough 85-45 loss at the hands of Charlotte Elite Academy. McBee has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
McBee lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jakari Holloman, who scored 16 points. Holloman scored a full 35.6% of McBee's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Tyrek Wright, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Charlotte Elite Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jared Taylor, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. The contest was Taylor's ninth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan King, who scored 22 points.
McBee has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season. As for Charlotte Elite Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-3.
McBee will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Elevation Prep Academy at 11:30 a.m. on December 29th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: JAYLEN THOMAS and Holloman. Charlotte Elite Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Hills Christian at 4:00 p.m. on December 29th. North Hills Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Charlotte Elite Academy is ranked 128th).
