The Douglas County Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Newnan 41-7 at home. Considering Douglas County has won six contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Leading Douglas County to victory were Sire Hardaway and Zamarcus Lindley. Hardaway rushed for 75 yards and two touchdowns, while Lindley rushed for 142 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Daryus Jackson was another key contributor, rushing for 140 yards on only eight carries.
Douglas County pushed their record up to 10-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.5 points per game. As for Newnan, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Douglas County will take on South Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Paulding will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while Douglas County is ranked ninth). As for Newnan, they will head out on the road to face off against New Manchester at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
