The Grand County Red Devils lost against the Duchesne Eagles back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Grand County fell 41-29 to Duchesne. Grand County has not had much luck with Duchesne recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cadence Kasprick and Trinity Bryant certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Kasprick scored 12 points along with nine steals, while Bryant scored nine points along with four steals. Kasprick has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tatum Packard, who scored two points along with nine rebounds.
Duchesne was led to victory by Chezney Farnsworth and Tenycia Torgerson. Farnsworth dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds, while Torgerson scored eight points along with 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaelee Farnworth, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Grand County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Duchesne, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Grand County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against North Summit at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully North Summit focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday. As for Duchesne, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Altamont at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Altamont has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Duchesne will arrive with three straight victories.
