Chino Hills is a perfect 4-0 against Los Osos since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Chino Hills Huskies will face off against the Los Osos Grizzlies at 4:45 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Tuesday, Chino Hills didn't have quite enough to beat Rancho Cucamonga and fell 3-2. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Chino Hills actually scored more points across those five sets (96-95), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-18, 16-25, 14-25, 15-12.

Despite the defeat, Chino Hills had strong showings from Sean Spicer, who had 25 kills, nine digs, and two aces, and Anthony Sabbara, who had nine digs and two aces. The dominant performance gave Sabbara a new career-high in digs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Guevara, who had 13 digs and five aces.
They weren't the only good server: Chino Hills was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Los Osos suffered their biggest loss since April 18, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to Upland. The Grizzlies have struggled against the Highlanders/Scots recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meetings.
Los Osos now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Chino Hills, their record now sits at 6-6.
Chino Hills was able to grind out a solid win over Los Osos when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 3-1. Does Chino Hills have another victory up their sleeve, or will Los Osos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
